Retirement – A Day of Celebration 4 Sushila Ma’am

“One must forever strive for excellence……. and never be satisfied with second best”

-   J.R.D. Tata.

This is what our pioneer teacher Mrs.Sushila Verghese stood for. Notre Dame School, New Delhi and ma’am have traversed many-a-mile together for the last twenty-four years.

On 31st of July 2014 Notre Dame Management, staff and students were emotionally charged as their beloved Sushila ma’am had retired. The function in her favour initiated with prayers, reading from the Holy Bible, followed by a series of vaudeville, dance and skits peppered by speeches in between.

Around 12:30 p.m. the staff gathered to felicitate ma’am. Teachers travelled down the memory lane, out pour of feelings, halcyon incidences were in the air. Memento, Bouquets, Cards and gifts were showered by the School Management, students and the P.T.A. Reciprocating to all ma’am spoke in choked voice and her tears said all. Later she emboldened herself and blessed all those who had been a part of her life in the past twenty-four years.

Headmistress, Sr.Mary Reena thanked her for delivering Scholastic excellence to students and assured her that she would always remain eched in the memories of all.

Principal, Sr.MAry Alice, was grateful to Mr.Verghese for his presence and unflinching support he had given to ma’am which had helped her to bloom and blossom. She also encouraged ma’am to remain active and fulfill her unquenchened dreams dreams and desires. She reminded ma’am that ONCE a member of Notre Dame family ALWAYS a member of Notre Dame family – An EMERITUS.

A’La’Carte awaited all accompanied by music and laughter.
